Several times in any given year we have planned and, sometimes, unplanned events taking place here at Salem. When these happen we try to ensure photographs are taken. This page offers photos in thumbnail format (click on the photo and a much larger version will pop-up) by year. Please check back to this page often as events as described happen all the time!

From exterior projects such as is represented today, to Advent/Christmas doings and celebrations, to Sunday school programs (including Christmas), to weddings and baptisms, this page is the repository for a photographic representation of these and other things that "pop-up" during the year. Please visit often as things change!

New Member Appreciation Sunday

Salem added has added several new-member families! Our congregation has grown almost every year since 2013! We continue to offer our gratitude to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His ongoing grace shown our "little country church in the woods". This photo is of those who were at this Sunday's Appreciation Day.

Children's
Christmas program

The population of Salem is growing and this is especially evident in the growing number (this year 26) of children now attending Sunday school. These kids put on a show that will likely be remembered for some time to come! See below:

Straightening Tombstones

Some of the headstones or tombstones in the cemetery are well over 100 years old. Over time and given Minnesota's often dramatic climate, some of these stones and in-ground markers have tipped or sunk or both to one degree or another. The 2015 annual cleanup in which we normally clean up the fallen leaves and tidy-up the area around the church brought to mind a long-lingering idea... "let's straighten out the tombstones in the cemetery!" So, Pr. Rob and over 30 others joined together to make this somewhat daunting project a reality and "just do it!" It took some thought as they wandered through the cemetery in an effort to ascertain the amount of labor required. After seeing just a few markers and headstones, the answer came quickly... "A lot of effort!"

Undaunted, the 30+ army of volunteers set about gathering up necessary tools etc. and got the job done...regardless of the less-than-great weather. A few stones remain left to do and that will be done next year. Nonetheless, this year's effort was a magnificent beginning!!
