Pastor Rob Krajewski - (651) 261-7333
Pastor Rob Krajewski joined this parish as pastor in January, 2013. Since then, the congregation has grown substantially but, more importantly, its demographics has undergone a dramatic shift in Check out our New
Facebook Page!!which the average age has trended clearly downward… that is, we are getting younger!! Not only is the congregation growing and getting younger (average age), we are gaining children! The Sunday school is, on most Sundays, thriving! We have young mothers teaching the Sunday school! God has, quite apparently, chosen to bless this parish in both visible and invisible ways… for all of which we are deeply grateful. If you are looking for a church-home that has a small but vibrant congregation with which to bond into a church family, this place is for you! Please read on and learn more about us… worship specifics, associations, what we believe, who we are and more. If you decide to visit, you will be welcomed like a long-lost friend!
Salem was built in 1893 by a handful of Swedish immigrants who needed a place of worship. The dirt-poor immigrants had been walking nearly six miles every Sunday morning to an established Lutheran Church. At times they took food for their meal, and walked 6 miles back home. The few immigrants somehow raised $500 and built the Chapel over a hundred years ago. Salem has grown a lot in the last years. We have gone through a building project which increased the size of the facility and gave us more space for youth gatherings and adult meetings. Our kitchen facilities have been modernized and we have a lovely narthex. Our altar features a beautiful stained glass window, reconditioned pulpit and communion rail.
On Sunday, July 30, 2017 we were given a presentation by one of our member's granddaughter who is in medical school. A group of her fellow med students recently went to India whereupon they gave aid and assistance to local medical professionals as they treated people in medically underserved areas of the country. A list of links to various resources from this presentation is available in THIS downloadable PowerPoint.

After several years' absence, Sunday school is returning to Salem! Over the past several months we have been blessed with a sizable growth in our weekly worship attendance. This growth is inclusive of several younger people who have children of Sunday school age. Interested? Send us an E-mail with your contact information and we will get things going!
